The Yazh, a seven-stringed instrument, derives its name from the Tamil phrase "Kai-vizhi," which translates to "handy to hold in hand." Historically, these instruments were designed for portability, often carried on the shoulder like a bag. Our Kaivizhi Yazh draws inspiration from this historical design.
